HORMEAD PARISH COUNCIL; CLERK
Hormead Parish Council are seeking to appoint a Parish Clerk to support the Council in the day-to-day management of the Council’s services. This includes overseeing the use of the Meads playing fields and Pavilion. The appointment is permanent, subject to a probationary period of six months.
Hormead is a small rural parish consisting of the three hamlets of Hare Street, Great Hormead and Little Hormead with an electorate of approximately 650. It receives an annual precept of £27,000. The council meets six times a year.
The successful applicant will have good communication skills and preferably have previous local government experience. Ideally he/she will have a personal computer, printer, and broadband access. He/she will be encouraged to either hold, or be willing to obtain the Certificate in Local Council Administration. The position is part-time (currently up to 10 hours per month) and payable on the National Joint Council salary scale 22 (approximately £14 per hour).
